It took two years for the choreographer Aira Naginevičiūtė to find the real shape for her dance performance "Processus". It took much effort for the dancers to find the right expression of their feelings and minds. It took one year for costume designer Rūta Biliūnaitė to create all the costumes for the "flesh and blood" of the piece. And it took just a minute for the dance and theatre critics to recognise "Processus" as the best dance piece in Lithuania of the 2002/2003 season and announce Aira Naginevičiūtė "The Choreographer of the Year".
Since 1998 Aira has been teaching different modern dance techniques at the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy. The idea of "Processus" was inspired by the students' improvisations on the topic "Extreme States". "After people go through an extreme state they become more beautiful in their soul - stronger and more spiritual. I didn't want to tell a story of a particular person, no. I just wanted to show the process of transformation.", choreographer says. As an example for the improvisation choreographer chose the theme of pregnancy and childbirth - the state of worry, waiting, fair, uncertainty, harmony and disharmony. In dance performance "Processus" choreographer tries to tell about the process of soul transformation through the body experience and the process of dance creation.
