"Laugh what you want, but we're - immortal."
Julio Cortázar
It’s been a century since writer Julio Cortázar created the rules of games with imagination. Inspired by the author, Urban dance theatre Low Air presents an innovative live dance installation which connects both visual and performing arts.
The performance Game Over revolves around game perspective, inviting audiences to witness the collision of reality and dreams. Spectators feel as if in a particular situation, considering relationships with others and themselves. Subtle feelings interfere with fiction and magic, while becoming inevitable elements of movement and sight.
Cortázar has this magical realism which inspired artists for quite a while. The writer’s stories are particularly vivid, and they have become a map for motion and choreography here, along with the possible storyline for dreams and reality.
Several young Lithuanian theatre professionals have teamed up for this newest piece. Game Over is a collaboration between set designer Lauryna Liepaitė, lighting designer Povilas Laurinaitis, musician and composer Adas Gecevičius, dancers and choreographers Airida Gudaitė and Laurynas Žakevičius. On stage – two dancers, live music, interpretation of the set design, lighting and a touch of Cortázar.
